Electrical Engineer
San Diego, CA Onsite Start Time: Between 6-8am
Pay Rate: $45.00/hr - $48.00/hr
Duration: 6 Months Contract to Permanent

Our client an Electrical Engineer to join their team in Rancho Bernardo. This position is responsible for supporting the Electrical Engineering sustainment team in resolving a wide range of advanced technical issues in Electrical Engineering. The candidate will evaluate, interpret and resolve systems engineering problems to meet the design requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Evaluate, interpret and resolve systems engineering problems to meet the design requirements.
• Develops innovative but practical solutions to advance technical problems in engineering.
• Address complex and difficult technical and manufacturing issues during the build of EMALS and AAG systems and sub-systems.
• Create, re-draw and update drawings utilizing engineering change process and tools.
• Participates in the internal and external technical project/program reviews including preliminary and critical/detailed design reviews to ensure they meet defined product requirements.
• Prepares and reviews documented design inputs for electrical design, as well as identify obsolescence required in support of the continuous operation of EMALS and AAG systems.
• Troubleshoots conflicting design/development requirements, difficult coordination requirements, and special material requirements.
• Reviews requirement matrix and/or statement of work to generate basis of estimates in support of customer proposals.
• Generates plan and procedures for systems qualification testing, as well as factory acceptance testing, utilizing engineering and scientific principles.
• Presents report(s) at engineering meetings, participate in program reviews and consults on problems.
• Circuit board design, Read schematics, Design cable design and harness for PCB’s.
• Find alternatives for obsolete parts.
• Troubleshooting in lab to find failures – provide recommendations on how to fix failures.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and two or more years of engineering experience. EIT a plus. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
• Must have a general understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience demonstrating the application of those concepts while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
• Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment and organize work assignments to meet established timetables.
• Good communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to work extended hours as required.
