As a key member of our Data Engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of our new data integration hub. This critical initiative aims to streamline data processes, enhance data accessibility, and ultimately improve the services we provide to our customers. You will be instrumental in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), working within an agile framework to deliver a cutting-edge data platform.
Location: 100% On-Site in Austin, TX
Pay: Up to $87 per hour (DOE)
Here’s some examples of what you will be doing:
• Take on a technical leadership role, guiding an agile development team to successful project outcomes.
• Design and implement efficient data acquisition strategies from a diverse range of data sources.
• Develop complex SQL scripts to transform raw data into a well-structured dimensional model within Oracle.
• Build and maintain automated data pipelines using Informatica Power Center/IICS to seamlessly integrate external data.
• Collaborate closely with fellow Data Engineers on the design and implementation of optimal data models.
• Rigorous verification and validation of SQL scripts, Informatica workflows, and database views to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Develop automated testing solutions to streamline verification and validation processes.
• Actively participate in all agile sprint ceremonies, contributing to planning, execution, and review.
• Partner with Architects and the broader Data Engineering Team on implementation designs and data acquisition strategies.
• Create mockups and engage with stakeholders to validate requirements and ensure alignment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges collaboratively with the team.
• Assist in the implementation and configuration of essential development tools.
• Produce and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including specifications and diagrams.
• Participate in requirements gathering and design sessions to understand business needs.
• Analyze new and evolving business requirements, assess their impact on the data platform, and propose effective solutions.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the successful delivery of the data integration hub.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Proven experience in data acquisition from various data sources.
• Expertise in developing complex SQL scripts and optimizing database queries.
• Hands-on experience with Informatica Power Center and/or IICS for building automated ETL workflows.
• Solid understanding of dimensional modeling concepts and their application in data warehousing.
• Experience with data verification and validation techniques, including the development of automated solutions.
• Active participation in agile development methodologies and sprint ceremonies.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience producing and maintaining technical documentation.
• Ability to analyze business requirements and propose technical solutions.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Experience with Oracle databases, including the creation of views and materialized views.
• Familiarity with data integration hub concepts and architectures.
• Experience with performance testing and load/stress testing of data pipelines.
• Exposure to DevOps practices and tools.
