Job Title: Database Administrator 2 (DBA)
Location: Austin Texas

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Database Administrator to join our Administrative Applications Production Data Services team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Oracle databases and be well-versed in data modeling, performance tuning, and maintaining database security standards. You will be responsible for providing on-call operational support for critical application databases, collaborating with the Data Warehouse team, and optimizing database performance across multiple environments.

Key Responsibilities:
• Create, monitor, and optimize production databases, ensuring efficient performance and reliability.
• Enter codes to develop and maintain the production database system, monitoring memory and record distribution.
• Provide operational support for application databases featuring complex data models, workflows, and reports.
• Direct programmers and analysts in making adjustments to database systems.
• Confers with coworkers to assess database changes' impact on systems and costs.
• Perform logical and physical data modeling and develop relational database designs.
• Evaluate users' requests for new data elements, ensuring data integration and integrity.
• Execute performance tuning to improve database processing performance.
• Optimize database performance during and after migration, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
• Develop and maintain database monitoring solutions, tracking health and performance metrics.
• Design, implement, and maintain Oracle Stored Procedures and Functions.
• Provide technical assistance to users and ensure compliance with EIR Accessibility standards for all user interfaces.
• Assist in database software installation, benchmarking, and recovery procedures for database environments.

Years of Experience and Skills/Experience Required/Preferred
• 6 Years required with Experience in Oracle database design, analysis, and performance tuning
• 6 Years required with Experience in Oracle database structures, data analysis, and performance tuning
• 6 Years required with Experience designing enterprise applications and/or services
• 6 Years required with Experience creating technical and functional design documentation
• 6 Years required with Experience within software development Life Cycle using Agile methodology (e.g., Scrum)
• 6 Years required with Experience with multi-tier system/application development (e.g., SOA, Microservices, 3-Tier applications)
• 4 Years preferred with Experience with data warehouse applications and/or database reporting features
• 1 Years preferred with Jira experience
• 1 Years preferred with Oracle Certification

Additional Requirements:
• Participation in on-call support for application databases.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
