A talented IBM WebSphere Systems Administrator is needed to provide critical middleware support for financial applications. This is an operational role requiring a hands-on individual with a strong background in managing and maintaining complex WebSphere environments. You would be instrumental in ensuring the stability, performance, and availability of our critical systems.
This position is based 100% on-site in our Dallas, TX office, occasional weekend work may be required. This is a long term contract position paying up to $86/hr.
Responsibilities:
• Provide expert-level administration and support for IBM WebSphere Application Server environments (version 9 and above).
• Manage and troubleshoot HTTP servers, application deployments, and WebSphere plugins.
• Perform system installations, configurations, and upgrades.
• Implement and maintain failover and disaster recovery solutions.
• Monitor and optimize system performance through tuning and analysis.
• Utilize strong UNIX and scripting skills (Shell Scripts, Python) for automation and system management.
• Collaborate effectively with customers and other technical teams to resolve issues and implement solutions.
• Contribute to the maintenance and stability of network components, including LTM and junctions.
• Participate in operational tasks (approximately 80% of the role) and contribute to engineering projects (approximately 20% of the role).
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in IBM WebSphere Application Server administration.
• Advanced knowledge of WebSphere Application Server, HTTP servers, applications, and plugin components.
• Proven ability in troubleshooting complex WebSphere issues.
• Experience with system installations, configurations, and upgrades.
• Familiarity with failover and disaster recovery concepts and implementation.
• Solid understanding of network principles, including LTM and junctions.
• Strong performance tuning and optimization skills.
• Proficiency in UNIX operating systems and scripting (Shell Scripts, Python).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with Ansible and AWS is a plus.
• Relevant certifications are a plus but not required.
