We're seeking a highly motivated and resourceful Field Engineer to join our team in Salt Lake City, Utah. This is a long-term contract position offering competitive pay of $25 - $29 per hour, depending on experience.
As a key member of our on-site support team, you'll be instrumental in maintaining and supporting our critical IT infrastructure across various locations, including office environments, reservation centers, and airports.
As a Field Engineer, your days will be varied and challenging, providing essential on-the-ground support for our technology ecosystem. You'll be responsible for:
• Providing comprehensive operational support and fulfilling IMAC (install, move, add, and change) requests across our IT infrastructure.
• Implementing, supporting, and repairing a wide range of desktop devices, applications (including MS Office and Outlook), peripherals, and telephone systems.
• Troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues efficiently and effectively.
• Maintaining and supporting network devices and multiple server platforms.
• Working with specialized equipment, including kiosks, Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS), and Ramp Information Display Systems (RIDS).
• Performing the physical relocation of various IT infrastructure devices as needed.
• Applying your technical expertise to address relevant business needs.
• Being available for travel, on-call support, weekend work, and occasional overnight trips to meet the demands of our operations.
Background Requirements:
• Education: 2-4 years of formal IT training or 3+ years of equivalent hands-on experience in the IT field.
• Preferred Certification: A+ Certification.
• Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of PC workstation and laptop repairs, along with strong application knowledge (MS Office Suite, Outlook, etc.).
• Essential Skills:
o Exceptional troubleshooting abilities across hardware, software, and network domains.
o In-depth knowledge of Windows workstations and peripheral devices.
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling you to interact effectively with
technical and non-technical colleagues.
o Proven ability to apply technical processes to address specific business requirements.
• Bonus Points: Previous experience within the airline industry.
• Flexibility: Willingness and ability to accommodate travel, on-call I.T. support, weekend work, and overnight trips as required.
