This is a 6 month temp to perm position.

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced IT Security Supervisor to oversee and manage the security infrastructure of our organization. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our information systems and networks. The IT Security Supervisor will collaborate closely with internal teams, and external vendors to maintain and enhance our security posture.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain regular communication with network and security hardware/software vendors and consultants to stay abreast of technological advancements and security best practices.
Engage daily with agency application programmers, system administrators, and IT staff to implement security measures, resolve incidents, and ensure compliance with security policies.
Interface frequently with local, state, and federal agencies to address escalated issues, security concerns, and project security requirements effectively.


Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Experience: Demonstrated expertise in firewall management, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, antivirus solutions, backup/recovery software, and other related security technologies.
Comprehensive knowledge of local and wide area communications, including network switches and routers administration and configuration.
At least three years of hands-on experience in providing security and disaster recovery solutions for information technology systems. Alternatively, five years of relevant experience can substitute for the educational requirement. Education qualifications may be adjusted based on practical experience.

Additional Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex security challenges.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams and with external stakeholders.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent are preferred.
