• This position is 100% on-site paying up to $86/hr
• Flexibility to work extended hours may be required.
• Occasional travel, including overnight stays, may be necessary.
• Participation in an on-call 24/7 rotation is required
As a Senior Oracle Database Administrator, you will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our critical database systems. You'll be involved in all aspects of database management, from installation and configuration to strategic planning and cloud migration. This is a chance to leverage your deep Oracle knowledge, contribute to our technological evolution, and become a key player in our long-term success.
Your day to day will include:
• Take ownership of the full lifecycle of our Oracle databases, including installation, configuration, upgrades, administration, monitoring, maintenance, and security.
• Dive deep into complex database configurations to perform thorough problem analysis and implement effective solutions.
• Lead complex installations, configurations, customizations, and performance tuning initiatives.
• Contribute to strategic planning, database architecture, and design, providing valuable recommendations on functional and business requirements.
• Actively participate in project activities, offering your technical expertise to ensure successful outcomes.
• Provide high-level technical support, manage database problems and changes effectively, and perform essential system maintenance.
• Collaborate with users to facilitate the smooth transition and implementation of new systems and programs.
Background Requiremends:
• A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of industry best practices.
• Proven expertise in Oracle database administration, including patch upgrades and performance optimization (Oracle 19 experience is highly valued).
• Solid experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
• A strong understanding of Oracle internals and operational aspects of database management.
• Practical experience with data center environments.
• Experience with or a strong desire to participate in Oracle to AWS cloud migration projects.
• The ability to hit the ground running and contribute immediately to our team.
• A proactive and self-starter mentality with a strong sense of ownership.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
• Strong communication and collaboration 1 skills.
• While not mandatory, experience with Oracle GoldGate would be a significant plus.
• While specific scripting language expertise is still being determined, experience with scripting and automation is highly desirable.
• Experience with Oracle Applications is a significant plus.
