This Printer Lab Operator Position Features:
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Printer Lab Operator who is mechanically inclined and eager to learn and grow in a dynamic lab environment. The ideal candidate will operate and maintain digital printers and associated equipment, perform routine maintenance tasks, and assist engineers and technicians with various lab activities. This role involves working with large industrial equipment and handling materials such as paper rolls and ink cartridges.
Qualifications:
Mechanically inclined with a strong interest in learning and growth.
Experience operating large industrial equipment.
Self-driven and detail-oriented.
Ability to understand and operate digital production printer hardware and control units using established procedures and instructions.
Capable of building stable internal working relationships and resolving basic technical issues through negotiation.
Responsibilities:
Daily and Weekly Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on large commercial printing equipment, record activities, and address any issues.
Material Handling: Move large paper rolls using pallet jacks, load and unload ink cartridges, and manage waste ink collection and disposal.
Inventory Management: Receive deliveries of ink, paper, parts, and supplies; record transactions; and manage inventory storage.
Printer Operations: Set up and run printer jobs for engineers and technicians, and operate end-processing equipment on printed rolls.
Repairs and Upkeep: Perform simple repairs on printers and contribute to general lab cleaning and upkeep.
Collaboration and Support: Assist lab technicians and engineers with equipment setup, maintenance, and configurations. Provide training to other operators as needed.
Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a safe and clean working environment, ensuring proper handling of materials and waste disposal.
Job Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 40-50 lbs; anything heavier requires additional assistance.
No driving required for this position.
Dress code: Protective footwear (steel-toed shoes provided by the company), no shorts, sleeves required on shirts with no visible midriff, no offensive graphics, and no torn clothing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of printing systems technology.
Ability to follow test plans, collect and measure data, and perform operator maintenance.
Understands and adheres to defined processes within the department.
Strong interaction and collaboration skills with technical peers.
Ability to produce consistent, reliable results with high quality standards.
