Are you a highly experienced and proficient Storage Engineer/Administrator with a deep understanding of object and block storage technologies? Do you excel in providing critical support for complex storage infrastructures and ensuring the reliability of mission-critical applications?

If you have a strong background in Hitachi and Cisco storage solutions and are adept at technical documentation, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

Location is on-site in Kansas City, MO. Long term contract paying up to $80/hr (DOE).

As a Senior Storage Engineer/Administrator, you will be a vital member of our 24x7 team, responsible for the technical support and expertise of our designated storage software and hardware. Your primary focus will be on maintaining the integrity and performance of our critical storage infrastructure, including object storage, NAS, and block storage environments.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide expert-level technical and production support for critical storage-related software and hardware infrastructure services supporting mission-critical financial applications.
• Perform storage provisioning, configuration, maintenance, resource management, reporting, and troubleshooting across various storage platforms.
• Demonstrate a full understanding of industry best practices in storage management and administration.
• Utilize your expertise in Hitachi Content Platform (HCP) for object storage and related protocols (S3, NAS, SMB, NFS).
• Manage and maintain Cisco MDS storage networks and utilize Cisco NDFC.
• Administer Hitachi block arrays and replication technologies.
• Actively work with ServiceNow tickets and incidents, providing operational support and contributing to the incident response team.
• Contribute to technical documentation as needed.
• Adhere to change control processes and procedures.
• Collaborate effectively within a team of 15 members.

Requirements:
• 7-10 years of significant experience and proficiency in storage engineering and administration.
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Hitachi Content Platform (HCP) and object storage principles.
• Strong understanding and practical experience with NAS, SMB, and NFS protocols.
• Expertise in Cisco MDS storage networks and Cisco NDFC management.
• Proven ability to manage Hitachi block arrays and implement replication solutions.
• Experience with backend block storage systems (Hitachi preferred, similar experience with IBM or other enterprise-level vendors will be considered).
• Solid understanding of the S3 protocol for object storage.
• Experience providing operational support in a 24x7 environment.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow for ticket and incident management.
• While not a strict requirement, strong technical writing skills would be highly beneficial.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation (not frequent).

Work Environment:
• This role is part of a 24x7 team and may require participation in an on-call rotation.
• The day-to-day primarily involves operational support, with tasks managed through ServiceNow.
• You will be part of the incident response team.
• Initial expectations include learning processes and procedures, particularly change control.
