Structural Designer | Houston, TX (Onsite)
Our client, a leading engineering firm in Houston, is seeking an experienced Structural Designer to join their dynamic team. This is a critical role for a professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and possesses the technical expertise to translate complex architectural visions into precise structural realities.

If you are a Revit expert with a deep understanding of diverse structural systems and a passion for high-quality project delivery, we want to hear from you.

The Role at a Glance
As a Structural Designer, you will move beyond basic drafting to take ownership of project documentation. You will serve as a bridge between project management and production, ensuring that every detail—from tilt-wall elevations to complex MEP coordination—is accurate, buildable, and delivered on schedule.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Development: Analyze project notes, sketches, and architectural models to plan and develop complete structural drawings with minimal Project Manager (PM) input.

Specialized Documentation: Produce project documentation including specialized details coordinated with the PM and architectural teams.

Conflict Resolution: Proactively recognize, communicate, and resolve conflicts between structural, architectural, and MEP models.

Project Management: Manage time effectively to meet strict deadlines across multiple simultaneous projects.

Technical Precision: * Coordinate top-of-steel elevations, including complex sloped roof conditions.

Produce detailed tilt-wall panel elevations (dimensions, embed plates, openings, joint locations, and recesses) fully coordinated with architectural drawings.

Leadership & Quality Control:

Review work produced by Drafters and Junior Designers for accuracy.

Perform rigorous pre-review checks to catch drafting inconsistencies, spelling errors, and missing dimensions.

Provide guidance to junior team members when the PM is unavailable.

Construction Administration: Assist with CA tasks and attend coordination meetings to discuss design direction and inter-disciplinary alignment.

Qualifications
Experience: 5–8 years of structural or architectural design/drafting experience.

Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Revit is strictly required.

Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of various structural systems, including steel, concrete, tilt-wall, masonry, and wood.

Autonomy: Proven ability to independently plan and develop complex drawings from start to finish.

Communication: Exceptional coordination skills with architects and MEP consultants; ability to collaborate effectively within an internal team.

Detail-Oriented: A "sharp eye" for quality control and the ability to manage multiple project timelines simultaneously.

Work Environment
Location: Houston, TX.
Schedule: 100% Onsite.
